The Apostolic Tradition: A Discipleship Pathway
Monday Aug 14, 2023
Monday Aug 14, 2023
This next series of messages is about the Apostles and their lives following Jesus’ ascension and the coming of the Holy Spirit. It's another part of our general theme of defining Shiloh Church after COVID and disaffiliation. We are a people dedicated to God’s eternal purpose as defined by biblical-apostolic institution; the indwelling leadership of the Holy Spirit, and traditional Wesleyan-Methodism.
This series of messages called "The Apostolic Tradition" will explore the narratives of the apostles and their influence on the emerging Church of the first centuries. We will especially observe how they lead new converts on the path of discipleship. Our goal is to witness the growth of global Christianity through the apostolic tradition and its followers, so that we can model their examples on our discipleship pathway.

Generations of Jews served as God's chosen people for the fulfillment of His eternal purpose. They were not "chosen" because of their greatness, but because the LORD said so. Now, the same LORD says you are chosen. Jewishness and adherence to the Law of Moses no longer defines choseness. It is a matter of new life in Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said, “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not bear his own cross and comes after me cannot be my disciple. For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish…” (Luke 14:26-28) A serious walk with Christ will cost you. Ready to have a honest talk about this?

Acts of the Holy Spirit: They Prayed for Boldness
Monday Jul 17, 2023
Monday Jul 17, 2023
The boldness of early Christians set them apart in the ancient world because brute oppression was the order of the day. They fearlessly gathered for worship and fellowship, even in the face of imminent danger, openly defying the religious and cultural norms of the time by refusing to worship pagan gods or to participate in idolatrous practices. Everything old is new again. Like them, we, too, must pray for boldness.
