We encounter a man this weekend who'd been a victim of circumstances beyond his control. He was crippled for most of his life and, by the time we meet him, he lives hovering just above death. His life is meaningless, repetitive, misery until Jesus approached him and asked, "Wilt thou be made whole?"

Behold, the Salt of the Earth

What is Church? Is it a denomination? A religion? Is it a place for weddings and funerals, baptisms, confirmations, and sacraments? If it’s the people, then what people? People who “attend”? People who enjoy the company of their classes and groups, music, preaching? What is church about? What’s the point?

Behold, Fishers of Men

There were twelve men and a handful of women who embraced the ministry of the “Lamb of God” even if they did not fully understand it yet. To be fishers of men, an Apostle and the disciples who follow them must embrace the suffering servant ministry of the Lamb. “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.” (Jim Elliot 1927-1956)

Worship with the Shiloh family this weekend as we help you fall more deeply in love with Jesus. How can you not love the God who created you, witness your rebellion against Him, then protected and provided for you while you wandered outside His Kingdom? How can you not love the God who offered His only Son to settle your sin-debt with His own life? How can you not love the Son who willingly gave up His glory in Heaven to leave His Kingdom home for love of the Father who wanted so desperately to save you? How can you not love the Son who is the Lamb of God?

Behold My Son

The proliferation of Hallmark-like movies, with predictable plots and consistent themes, especially at Christmastime, is a powerful sign that people are hungry for love. They long for an ideal match and a deep, abiding affection and complete acceptance. The stories usually culminate with a misunderstanding resolved by a revelation of personal sacrifice for the sake of the beloved. One gives up a former life to be with the love of her/his life and then there’s the consummation via a kiss… and the credits roll. Jesus is a real person whose similar story can change your life forever.

Grace in Disgrace

Humble Joseph, the step-father of Jesus, embraced the shame and scandal though he was not guilty. His love for the LORD and his beloved bride compelled him to endure slanderous gossip and separation from people who should have lauded his role in the world's salvation. Sound like anyone else you can think of? 

The Final Word

In the beginning was the Word... The Father's final word to the Enemy, to His children, to His heavenly companions, and His Son. Jesus is the final Word.
