We are about to embark on another short series of messages from the Apostle Paul’s letter to Titus. It will be difficult for some to hear and refreshing for others. It is a letter about leadership in the local church. You won’t want to miss it.

The church at Laodicea is rather imfamous among church-goers as it is often thrown out as an epitaph for churchs and persons who will not be drawn into an extreme point of view.

The celebration of Pentecost has arrived. We have journeyed from Christ's descent to be with and like us at Christmas, to His sacred plan to restore us to God’s favor at Easter, and now our invitation to ascend with and be like Christ. What an amazing day! How is it that we don’t take it more seriously?

The church at Philidelphia is truly blessed. In his letter to them Jesus essentially compares and contrasts them with Sardis - big, rich, pretentious verses small, poor, and humble. Jesus says they will hold fast and be a pillar in heaven.

Jesus's letter to the church at Sardis is a sobering reminder to all modern American churches. It is far too easy to get comfortable with "church" and totally miss the coming of our Lord.
